I saw this release and quickly bought it. 日本版の方は「ミシェル・コロンビエ・フィーチャリング・ジャコ・パストリアス」というアルバム名にしていたようで、それくらい Jaco のベースが活躍している。それ以外のメンバーも実力者揃いなので、何れも素晴らしい演奏の数々。全体的にメロディーが気持ちいい。中古は買わない主義なのに買ってしまったが、昔聴いていたレコードとは一味違った高品質(remastered)で大満足。特に 9.Spring のメロディーとギターとベースが何年経っても心に染み付いていて、是非もう一度CDでちゃんと聴きたいという思いだった(感涙;-)。なお、3.Dreamlandは "The Essential Jaco Pastorius" でも聴ける。Jacoももうこの世にはいない。 Originally released in 1979

I nearly had a heart attack when I ... Dreamland　 1979年レコード発売当時、Michel Colombierなんて全く知らなかったが、参加メンバーがすごいので、それだけの理由で買った。彼はフランスのアレンジャー・作曲家で映画音楽やこのアルバムのようなフュージョンもやってたらしい（2004年にガンで死去とか)。11.Autumn Land は彼のピアノソロ。豪華な参加メンバー名を並べていると長くなるのでやめるが、演奏が非常に印象的なのは、なんてったって Jaco Pastorius (b) と Larry Carlton (g).

Fusionが華やかしい頃の1979年に発表されたMichel Colombierのアルバム。 Michel Colombierは、映画音楽にも結構携わっており、このアルバムでも、曲によっては映画のワン・シーンにでも使えそうな曲が入っています。 Habe diese Produktion schon ewig als Platte. ミシェル・コロムビエはマイルスのアレンジャーとしても活躍していた人。顔ぶれが確かにすごい。特に「Bird song」が素晴らしい。ストリングスの使い方はクラウス・オガーマン以上かも。この曲で聞かせるマイケル･ブレッカーの滴るような音色のプレイ、行間を埋め尽くすジャコのもの悲しげなフレットレス。淡々と絡んでくるカールトンのオブリガード。名曲＆名演そろいだがこれ１曲だけでも買う価値は間違いなくある。
