Due to very strong cold winds, we could ski at Le Massif only two out of four days. The spa, main restaurant, gallery were all closed. We had been going nonstop for a week so nice to relax on a lounge chair in the bar and play a board game we checked out from the hotel. Again the rooms are well appointed with white walls, high ceilings, green glass lights and interesting touches. We enjoyed the Spa twice.

Nicolas has a whole range of vegan coffees that we enjoyed every day of our stay, and also a large choice of pastries, pies and cakes for non vegans. The breakfast at the hotel is average but the staff is very kind and could arrange vegan coffees for us :) Their bistro Le Bercail has a vibe, the food is ok, they can arrange for a few vegan options including a vegan pizza. We had a great Valentine’s meal at Les Labours, their vegan courge bonbon risotto was super yummy. Tried going snow shoeing by the river one day but it was too cold with the wind blowing into our faces, so ended up in Baie St-Paul village in Nicolas’s superb coffeeshop Arôme et Saveurs recommended by the amazing Louise, concierge at the hotel who helped us with so many things including arranging our ski days at Le Massif.
Over the course of the next 24 hours we tried a couple of times to get our toilet to flush but their efforts only worked once before the toilet was blocked again.

There is a wonderful 20-minute walk through the back of the property to the St. Lawrence River. WiFi and parking are free, and this hotel also features 2 restaurants. We do have rooms that give better privacy - your comment will help us make sure that the different options are clearly laid out. The toilet is in a separate room but the sink is also in the bedroom space. Our first hotel since COVID. Spa Nordique Le Germain offers sublime experiences to restore the senses. Understandably, the hotel was virtually deserted, only the bistro offered light meals.
Dinner in the main restaurant was superb. The tub itself was tall and very difficult to step into with no grab bars and a slippery tub bottom with no mat inside. Don’t forget your bathing suit and be prepared to be very cold on the way back to your hotel room since you have to go outside. The reason I am writing this review is the safety issue with the shower and tub.
